There are great martial arts movies of 2010, and summing them up and coming up with the best could be a tough job to do.

The top three martial arts movies 2010 are; The Karate Kid, the Ip Man 2 – The Legend of the Grandmaster and the Undisputed III – Redemption.

 

Martial Arts Movies 2010 – The Karate Kid

The Karate kid of 2010 is a remake of the 1984 film of the same title. This movie starred Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith, directed by Harald Zwart and produced by Will and Jada Pinkett Smith.

The story of the new Karate Kid revolves around a child and his mother who migrated to China. The boy became the target of bullying by the neighborhood bully. He them met an aging maintenance man, Mr. Han (Chan), who happens to be a kung fu master who taught the boy how to defend himself.

Just like in the original movie, the boy also entered a martial arts competition under the training and supervision of his martial arts expert friend.

 

Martial Arts Movies 2010 – Ip Man 2: The Legend of the Grandmaster

The Ip Man 2 is a sequel to the Ip Man of 2008. This film is biographical movie of the Ip Man, the grandmaster of the martial arts Wing Chun.

This movie was directed by Wilson Yip, produced by Raymond Wong and starred by Donnie as the Ip Man. This movie continued the events of the first film and centered on the life of the Ip Man in Hong Kong, which during the time was still under the British colonial ruling.

The sequel actually has more dramatic scenes and deeper characterization than the original movie. The story revolved on how the Chinese people were treated under the British ruling as well as the perception of the Western world towards Chinese martial arts.

This film which was released April of 2010 received raving reviews for its dramatic storytelling and Sammo Hung’s superb martial arts choreography.

This movie made Donnie Yen, a box-office actor and it also popularized Wing Chun, the traditional martial arts style he used in the movie. The real Ip Man’s family has expressed their deepest appreciation to Yen for allowing their father’s legacy to be known and remembered by the people of the new generation.

Martial Arts Movies 2010 – Undisputed III: Redemption

Undisputed III: Redemption is the third installment of the original Undisputed film shown on 2002. The movie was directed by Isaac Florentine and starred Scott Adkins, Mark Ivaner, Mykel Shanon Jerkins and Hristo Shopov.

The latest Undisputed picks up several years after the ending of the second sequel. This movie features outstanding fight scenes. It has been incorporated with a few dramatic scenes as the lead character turned his back from fighting and turning into religion.

Undisputed III has been recognized and has been given raving reviews. This movie is considered as one of the top three best martial arts movies 2010 and has won Best Director Award and Best Fight Choreographer in the 2010 edition of Action Fest.
