Kung Fu movies have been around for decades and old Kung Fu Movies were all don’t either in mainland China or in Hong Kong. In China the art of Kung Fu is not specific for martial arts only, this term is used in generalization of the discipline and the hard work a Chinese will go through in his lifetime. Old Kung Fu movies are still being watched over and over again by the martial arts fanatics.

 

Old Kung Fu Movies in Hollywood

Kung Fu movies are known as the sub-genre of the action movies. In China it is the only genre of action films, but in the westerns world, Kung Fu was a big surprise when it was brought to Hollywood by Bruce Lee.

That was the time when Hollywood took interest in this new kind of action, fighting without blasting and shootings.

Even the general public was amazed at how one person can defy a large group of enemies with his fist and kicks. That was Bruce Lee at his finest. Though he died young and wasn’t able to do many movies, Lee’s minimal works has left a mark in the history of movie making and he made a path for many other Chinese actors to be able to penetrate the international scene. One such actor is Jackie Chan.

 

Old Kung Fu Movies of Jackie Chan

Jackie Chan became Bruce Lee’s successor even without much trying. Though they’re both good in Kung Fu styles, their acting talents differ. Where Lee is very serious in his movies, Chan tends to be more inclined in the comedic side of his stories.

Jackie Chan actually came from a very poor family from Hong Kong. He was adopted by a British family and studied martial arts and acrobatics.

He has appeared as a stuntman in Bruce Lee’s film Enter the Dragon. He actually started acting in his teens under the name Cheng Lung. As a fulfilled actors, Jackie Chan, up to now still does his own stunts, most of which had nearly cost his life.

Some of Jackie Chan’s old Kung Fu movies include; Monkey in the Master’s Eye (1972), Enter the Dragon (1973), Rumble in Hong Kong (1974), Killer Meteors (1974), Shaolin Wooden Men (1976), To Kill with Intrigue (1977), Snake in the Eagle’s Shadow (1978), Spiritual Kung Fu (1978), Snake and Crane Arts of Shaolin (1978), The Young Master (1978), Magnificent Bodyguards (1978), Drunken Master (1978), The Fearless Hyena (1979), Master With Cracked Fingers (1979)

 

Old Kung Fu Movies Shown Internationally

Many old Kung Fu Movies have also been shown to other parts of the world and not just in the US. Such films include Bruce Lee’s Enter the Dragon and the Big Boss. Most of Jackie Chan’s films were also brought abroad like; The Drunken Master (original), Snake in the Eagle’s Shadow and Half a Loaf of Kung Fu. Other Kung Fu actors whose olds movies were shown internationally include Sammo Hung and Chow Yun-Fat.
